These dolls are based on a new mythology of legends from the past that echo the spirit of Japanese Horror Classics and Dark Anime Fantasy. The characters are without key facial features, which may render them monstrous, yet creatures of beauty. Artist Yurie Urie explains the dolls look as being one between life and death. These dolls are meant to represent a spine-chilling border, not truly dead, but certainly not alive!
Little Apple Dolls are a range of dolls designed by artist Ufuoma Urie. Appealing to fans of dark fantasy and horror, these Japanese-inspired dolls stand at around 13-14 inches high = 33=35 cm (except for the large art dolls, which are 3ft, and the mini dolls, which are 4 inches) and come dressed in beautiful intricate costumes. Butikspris 529 kr
These dolls are creatures of the Inbetween; child souls who are neither living nor dead. Their faces are not fully formed, missing noses and mouths which may render them horrific to some but beautiful to others. I find them eerily and hauntingly beautiful.
The first series of dolls was released around 2004, and four more subsequent series followed, along with limited editions and Comic Con exclusives. Packaged in gorgeous white window boxes, each with their own legend, the Little Apple Dolls soon became cult collectables.
Vilket klipp jag gjorde!!!!
